Dr Sankar Datta is an Independent Director of VFS Capital and a member of the Standing Committee on Poverty Alleviation of the Chhattisgarh Planning Commission. He possesses over three decades of profound experience in promoting the livelihood of underprivileged people through several financial services and sustainable aid-driven microfinance solutions.

Dr Datta holds a Doctorate degree in Economics from Ballabh Vidyanagar and possesses a unique ability to incorporate theories into practice. He worked on several renowned projects and consultancy assignments, including the World Bank project in Odisha, International Finance Corporation and Food & Agriculture Organisation. He drafted the 12th Five-Year Plan of the Planning Commission.
